2020 Bodega Noemia Malbec Patagonia
Deep violet with garnet edges. The bouquet of this wine is an intense dark fruit, with hints of coffee, dark chocolate and spice notes. Its flavor is well-balanced and elegant; well-integrated fruit, tannins and acidity; with a persistent, long finish.
Vinous
The 2020 Malbec originates from a 1932 plot planted in Mainqué, Río Negro, and underwent a two-year aging process in barriques and 500-liter barrels. Due to the warm vintage, this Noemía showcases a distinct character compared to the 2021 vintage tasted alongside. With a purple hue, the fruit-forward nose presents cherry and sweetbriar notes, accented by dried floral tones. Dry and relatively lean in comparison to other vintages, the 2020 offers good balance and a flavorful palate. The mouthfeel is a bit more one-dimensional than usual, but it lingers long.
