In the vineyard-covered hills of the Hautes-Côtes, the Bourgogne-Devaux family has been rooted since the late 1800s. Today, Luc Bourgogne (yes, that is his real last name), representing the fourth generation, crafts wines from their older-vine vineyards, focusing on quality over quantity. After decades of selling grapes to other winemakers, Luc took a bold step in 2012 to bottle their own wines, just like his grandparents did. They tend to their vines sustainably, embracing organic practices and the natural low yields of their 50-year-old vines. Their deep red wines offer aromas of jammy red fruits and gentle spices, with a palate that's powerful, warm, and complex. Expect fine but noticeable tannins and great persistence thanks to their minerality—Burgundy wines that are a true joy to taste and savor. Cheers to history and fine winemaking!

The Bourgogne-Devaux family has made its home in the vine-covered hills of the Hautes-Côtes since the late 1800s. Winemaker Luc Bourgogne (the ideal name for a winemaker) represents the fourth generation in Meloisey to care for vines and craft wines from the family’s many older-vine plots. For decades, the Bourgogne-Devaux family sold most of its grapes to other winemakers. In 2012, Luc Bourgogne decided the family should return to bottling its own wines, following in the footsteps of his grandparents who did the same. Vines are cared for according to “lutte raisonée” principles, following organic practices and avoiding chemical treatments as much as possible.
