2020 Dragonette Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills

$49.95 $54.95

This limited production beauty isn’t likely to hang around long. Layered and juicy with fantastic fruit, it’s a terrific follow-up to the 2018 vintage, bringing a little more density but enough freshness and lift to provide delicious drinkability now. Complexity abounds in red and blue fruit with baking spices, fresh herbs and a touch of grounding minerality. Don’t miss this mother of Dragonettes.

Zesty fresh herb, bell pepper and jalapeño notes lead the nose and palate. Coconut and agave anchor each sip, which echo with sage, thyme, jalapeño and a hint of smoke, finishing brisk with lemon peel, cayenne and a cooling, mentholated exhale. Aged two to three years. The weighty cap is shaped like a tahona, the stone wheel traditionally used to crush agave for distillation.

Moving to the Pinot Noirs, the 2020 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills reveals a medium ruby hue to go with a smoky, sappy herb, scorched earth, and both red and black-fruited perfume as well as medium-bodied richness, terrific overall balance, supple tannins, and a great finish.
