With a storied legacy, Fourchaume's southeast-facing premier cru vines on Kimmeridgean clay yield a full-bodied, generous Chablis. Lavish ripe citrus and pear notes interlace with earth and wet stone nuances, unfolding over a lengthy finish. The 2022 vintage's warmth and early harvest ensured complexity and phenolic ripeness, promising medium-term aging potential.

The Jadot family moved from Belgium to Burgundy and began setting down roots in the Beaune region in the 1820s, but the maison wasn't founded until 1859 when they started their n├ęgociant business. In the 1900s, their son Louis Jean Baptiste assumed the family business and expanded into nearby regions, acquiring some rather enticing vineyards. Additionally, the company expanded exports to include England and the U.S.A. Over the decades, the maison enjoyed an impressive growth and in 1984, Madame Jadot decided to sell the company to ensure its survival well into the future. Today the company continues to honor the legacy started almost 200 years ago; giving the utmost attention to each appellation and vineyard so that the essence of Burgundy can be expressed in each of their wines. Looks like a bright future is in store for the folks at Jadot (and wine consumers everywhere too).

Wine Spectator

This white shows a sharp underpinning of acidity, which defines smoky peach, stone and lemon flavors. Remains balanced while the flinty, mineral elements build to a lingering conclusion.

Toasty notes dominate the nose and palate, with some marmalade character also evident. A full, fleshy, Fourchaume with nice weight and purity of fruit, combined with enough acidity to keep it fresh. Feels like this will be ready to drink quite early, although there is plenty of concentration to allow further ageing.
