La Estrada was planted in the 1940s in the western part of the village of Lanciego. One of the highest elevation vineyards in the area at 610m a.s.l., this small (.64ha), northeast facing plot is planted primarily to bush trained Tempranillo and a small amount of Graciano with soils of pure chalky clay. Wines from this site tend to be firm and rustic showing profound purity, depth and balance.

James Suckling

Minerals, peppery spices, blue fruit and violets. Fine-grained, mealy tannins on the palate. Firm and extremely long, with some white pepper at the end. Lots of finesse here, despite the taut firmness.
