2021 Denner 'Mother of Exiles' Proprietary Red Paso Robles
Seductive aromas of violet, graphite, humidor, and new Italian leather explode from the 2021 Mother of Exiles. Wildly complex notes of blueberry, game, sandalwood, and dark chocolate give way to perfectly endowed tannins on the persistently hedonistic finish.
Wine Advocate
The 2021 Mother of Exiles is a powerful blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Tannat. Its aromas are finely detailed, with blackcurrant and blueberry fruit complemented by tones of tobacco leaves, tar, graphite and violet. The full-bodied palate features concentrated, violet-laced fruit supported by grainy tannins and fireworks of fresh acidity, and it has a very long, flavorful finish.

The Bordeaux blend in the lineup, the 2021 Mother Of Exiles is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petite Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Tannat that saw 60% new French oak. Cassis and darker berry notes, leafy herbs, tobacco, leather, and ample graphite notes all flow to a concentrated, textured Cabernet that has ample mid-palate depth, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. It tastes like a hypothetical mix of a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and a Pauillac.
