Behold the 2021 Brothers Blend, a dark, dense delight with cassis, dark chocolate, black cherry, and baking spices. Rounded tannins and great length make it a treat now or a gem for the cellar. Crafted by third-generation vintners, with Winemaker Andy Erickson and Vineyard Manager Mike Wolf, it’s Napa Valley tradition in a bottle.

Fresh and ripe red fruit with strawberries, crushed stones and a floral and spicy tinge. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate with firm but silky tannins, fresh plums and cherries. 54% malbec, 20% cabernet franc, 15% merlot, 10% cabernet sauvignon and 1% petit verdot. Drink now. Seductive nose here with forest berries, roasted meat, mushrooms and baking spices. Medium to full body with plush tannins. Intense and ample with a precise expression of dark berries and some mocha on the mid-palate. Hints of chocolate. Vibrant, well-balanced and wisely structured with a chewy finish. Try after 2025

I loved the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Brothers Blend, which comes from vines near Soda Canyon, just off the Silverado Trail. It has beautiful black and blue fruits, a kiss of minerality, notes of violet, and even an Oakville-like black olive character, as well as medium to full body and a great finish. I wasn't able to get prices for these Ellman releases, but I suspect this will be a smoking value. It's impeccably made and capable of evolving for 10-12 years at a minimum.
