A unique marriage of rye whiskeys from different parts of the world. The first is 100% malted rye, distilled and aged five-years in Poland. The second is a rye from Indiana matured for more than five years in new, charred American oak. The result is an harmoniously balanced whiskey that drinks much older than the five years listed on the bottle. Undertones of earth, cocoa, and spice greet the senses with the first whiff. Complex notes of graham cracker, ginger and roasted hazelnuts follow. The palate is all that and more, with cinnamon, citrus zest, sweet caramel and holiday spice. The finish has spice and saline running wild throughout. Truly a sensational glass of rye you’ll want to revisit over and over.
We have been really impressed with everything that Joe Beatrice and his team at Barrell Craft Spirits have released. And it’s clear that a panel of highly regarded judges felt the same. To be crowned the “Best Bourbon” at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is a monumental feat for this rapidly growing, small batch whiskey company. When it is time for a new batch, the team sorts through casks through rigorous tasting to pick the collection of whiskeys that are showing best at that moment, regardless of age, and bottle them at cask strength. The result are completely unique batches of bourbon. We can attest that these one-of-a-kind batches are stunningly delicious. We think you’ll agree.
