Each batch of this unique series from Barrell Craft Spirits features a unique blend based around Barrell’s 18-year-old stocks of Kentucky Whiskey, finished in a secondary barrel or cask. The project centers around blending on a scale small enough to allow extreme precision, while maintaining a single barrel-like scale controlled entirely by hand and by palate. This Barrel, AH09, was finished in a Ratafia de Champagne Barrel. Ratafia is a fortified liqueur made from the must of Champagne with herbs and other flavorings. This whiskey is incredibly silky. There is plenty of grape influence, as well as notes of Marzipan and ripe red fruits. It's an unexpected treat and one that will not last on our shelves for long!
