One of our favorite cocktails, the Margarita has a sordid history and its origins are often in question. It may have been created in the 1930s in Baja, or the 1940s in either Juarez or Acapulco… though cocktail historian David Wondrich notes it is likely a take on a popular pre-Prohibition cocktail called The Daisy, remade with tequila instead of brandy.

What we do know is that the Margarita is one of the most popular cocktails in the world and is open to many variations. We particularly like the sweet spice of ginger syrup in ours. In this month’s club you’ll find enough ingredients to make around 30-35 drinks. Feel free to tinker with the recipe, you may find a variation you like a little more. If you have any Maraschino liqueur around, or perhaps a little absinthe they offer really interesting flavors to the traditional Margarita.

You may have some leftover ingredients and can mix something fun on your own. Let your scout know what else you made!
