Smoky and decadent are not terms often used together to describe single malt. However, this 18-year-old Bowmore is a prime example of how it can be both. Sweet aromas of honey, brown sugar and vanilla combine nicely with hints of iodine and sprays of salt air, while caramel and raisins grace the palate along with a healthy dose of earthy peat. Its thick, oily texture coats the entire palate and turns into a long silky smooth finish. A masterful combination of rich malt, dark chocolate and Islay smoke at just the right age – you’ll thank us for the introduction later.
