Carne Humana  

A curious name for Dr. Bale’s land grant, indeed, but nevertheless “Carne Humana” is how the north end of the Napa Valley was legally known in the 1840s. The origin of the name “human meat” was to ward off squatters with tales of cannibalistic Indians (which the docile Wappo certainly were not). Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Petit Verdot, and Syrah form this powerhouse blend from Joe Wagner and his cousin Derek Beitler.
