Sometimes winemaking is just part of your DNA. With their families having some pretty serious cred in the wine industry, Carlo Trinchero (of Trinchero Family) and Josh Phelps (his dad, Chris, is one of Napa’s stalwart winemakers) decided to take their show on the road and roll the dice on their own project. Targeting a younger generation of consumers (the boys are 25 and 27, respectively), these childhood friends were initially selling their juice to friends out of the back of a truck. A few vintages later, they’ve upped their production drastically and are taking their wine to the millennial masses. With labels that reference different relationship statuses, this brand continues to reach new audiences through clever marketing and appeal to a younger sensibility through various forms of social media. It’s time to hit “like” on this up-and-coming duo.
