This new limited release from Bulleit is sure to raise some eyebrows. Batch 001 is a limited release crafted by distillery blender, Eboni Major. The bourbon is a blend of three spirits used in Bulleit's flagship lineup. Aged for at least 9 years, it contains more than 100 different liquids hand-picked for this blend. It is a celebration of the women behind the spirits and is a part of the female-focused Craftswomen Today program. It has an otherworldly character with a foundation of freshly cracked vanilla bean, Manuka honey, hints of banana, raisin and toffee with a backbone of toasted oak. The finish is silken and creamy with lingering fruits and hints of light spice.
In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit, Jr., fulfilled a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe by starting the Bulleit Distilling Company. Inspired by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, a tavern keeper in Louisville, Kentucky who made a high-rye whiskey between 1830-1860, Tom left a successful law practice and risked everything to experience life on the frontier. Today, we're not the only ones who are glad he did.
