Everything Is Connected

The Meyers are as committed to sustainability as they are to winemaking. The two are inseparable, after all. As grape growers and winemakers, they are intimately familiar with the direct line from the soil to the bottle and the entirety of the system that makes their wines – their livelihood – possible. You can’t make a balanced wine from an unbalanced environment, so the Meyers embrace their obligation to the people, plants, animals and all the unseen but interconnected elements of a healthy vineyard and a healthy business.

While Karen was raised in Australia, Matt grew up among the vines and in the cellar at Silver Oak, a producer known for their use of American oak instead of French oak. At Meyer, they embrace both to dramatic affect. Satisfy your curiosity about the fundamental differences with a bottle each of ‘Bonny’s Vineyard,’ aged in 100% new American oak, alongside ‘Le Bon Bon’, aged in 100% new
