The Beauty of Burgundy
Burgundy set the bar for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay around the world but, despite its big reputation, this small region produces only about 3% of France’s wine. There’s simply not enough of that magical terroir to go around, which drives up the price of land, grapes and, finally, the wines themselves. Don’t even get us started on the coveted Grand Cru vineyards – they only make up 2% of the region, just a sliver of that delicious pie. No wonder these mouthwatering bottles are in such high demand.
