This gentlemen's gin is one smooth customer complete with a heady mix of juniper, tangerine, pine, and sandalwood scents that bombard the senses straight out of the glass. On the palate, layers of grapefruit, coriander, black pepper and lavender join the siege. Youthful and exuberant at the start, Dunkirk goes down smooth with a finish that's pure class. Get in on the Spirit of Dunkirk already, you owe it to yourself to drink this well. Blimey, it's good!
Dunkirk Spirit was founded on the twin rocks of "love of country and a love of gin & tonic," with a straightforward mission to produce the finest small batch gin. Theirs is a proud name, borrowed from the British phrase "Dunkirk Spirit" used to describe times when people pull together to overcome adversity. It was coined after the 1940 evacuation of Allied troops (by mostly civilians in small pleasure craft boats) across the English Channel during the WWII battle of Dunkirk. In light of that heroic effort, they've crafted Dunkirk in a hand-made alembic still. Their master distiller (who also happens to be a decorated veteran) has a big heart filled with lots of Dunkirk Spirit and makes sure that a portion of sales in the USA are donated to charities that support American troops, as well as The Royal British Legion. Who knew gin could make you feel this good?
