A rarity from Fidencio, this Raicilla was made by Gerardo Pena, also known as El Lobo del la Sierra. Agave Maximiliana are cooked in a masonry oven, mechanically shredded, and then distilled in a still made from steel and old jars. The agave supply is limited, so the production is very low on this delicious and unique Raicilla. It’s been hailed as one of the smoothest Raicillas from Jalisco, smooth enough to fool you into thinking it isn’t an agave spirit at all. More herbal than smokey, with a sweet nose and lingering, toasty minerality on the finish.
