Facundo Paraiso XA Rum Bahamas

(Net Item - no discounts apply)

The crown jewel of the collection, this is blended from the oldest and rarest stocks in the family reserve and finished in Cognac casks. Paraiso is a fitting homage to 150 years of history and innovation in the rum trade. However you want to look at it, this is one of the finest rums available today and probably the best bottle the Bacardi family has ever produced. Nuanced notes of cinnamon and clove overlay rich vanilla and dark red fruits. The palate is pure luxury and it boasts a marzipan finish reminiscent of an XO Cognac. The most limited release of the collection, this will not last long...

The history of rum cannot be written without at least a few chapters dedicated to Don Facundo Bacardi Masso. In the early 1860s Cuban rum was a crude and low-quality spirit. Facundo changed all of that. The spirit he and his partners created was more refined, benefiting from better distillation methods, aging in oak barrels, and a lot of trial-and-error. These Facundo rums produced in the Bahamas pay homage to the man that started it all. This collection was made using one of the world's largest private reserves of more than 300 rum blends and was created to showcase the artistry of making rum. Rumor has it this is the only time these will be released in the US. Needless to say, we got our hands on as much as we could.
