Four Roses 'Small Batch Select' Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
This rose found its sweet spot at 104 proof and you’re going to be wickedly impressed. With red fruit and spicy aromas leading the charge, it’s got some classic Four Roses hallmarks. You’ll find a diverse array of flavors on the palate including vanilla, warming oak spice, tropical fruit and a hint of caramel. The finish is where the herbal tones arrive, with a minty freshness balanced by baking spices. This is easily a new house favorite and a whiskey that you’ll want to share with the whole neighborhood… or keep it for yourself, we won’t tell!
Once considered a lost brand by connoisseurs 35 years ago, Four Roses has embarked on a renaissance in Kentucky that's making waves in the Bourbon community. It all began when Paul Jones, Jr., the founder of Four Roses Bourbon, became smitten by the beauty of a Southern belle. It is said that he sent a proposal to her, and she replied that if her answer were "Yes," she would wear a corsage of roses on her gown to the upcoming grand ball. Paul Jones waited for her answer excitedly on that night of the grand ball…when she arrived in her beautiful gown, she wore a corsage of four red roses. What better moniker could there be for his devout passion to making this beloved bourbon? Today, the resurgence of Paul Jr.'s passion lives in the heart and mind of Master Distiller Jim Rutledge. From the careful selection of grains for each unique mashbill, to the gentle maturation of each barrel in a one-of-a-kind single story rack warehouses, Jim's care and attention to detail enables him to craft a unique spirit of unparalleled quality. Simply put, this is as good as bourbon gets.
Wine Enthusiast
Created by master distiller Brent Elliott to mark the distillery’s grand reopening, this Bourbon is the first permanent addition to the portfolio since 2006. This is a concentrated sip—even with plenty of water— showing warm, toasty vanilla, sugar cookies and buttery brioche, finishing extra-long and drying, accented by plenty of baking spice. It’s a real lipsmacker.
