In 1984 Bill Harlan saw something in a plot of land in the transitional zone where the cultivated Oakville bench met the wild forest. He planted grapes, built a winery and set about making one of the first truly cult wines. Robert Parker said of them, “Harlan Estate might be the single most profound red wine made not just in California, but in the world." Getting on the allocation list at Harlan requires patience. You may not be offered wine for quite some time, and generally only the current release. The opportunity to taste a vertical of Harlan doesn’t come along every day and when we found out we would be able to share them with you we jumped at the chance. We have secured a small number of library vintages of Harlan Estate. This is a unique opportunity to own wine from arguably some of the best vintages in Napa history.
