The flagship bottling of the distillery, named for the beach that is just about one-half mile away, Machir Bay is aged in ex-bourbon and Sherry barrels. Teeming with peat, smoke and a hint of citrus and black pepper on the nose, the palate is a bit more on the smoke, and secondary fruit character: apple pie, hint of lemon curd. This is the whisky one thinks of when they think Kilchoman, a definitive dram if ever there was one!
