The 4th edition of this whiskey has been highly anticipated around these parts. We've had an itch for the lush notes of buttered popcorn, caramel, and vanilla which envelope your senses from the first whiff. The big, bold palate boasts an abundance of complementary spice and fruit tones. The long, elegant finish shows a touch of oak and will stop you in your tracks.
Last year we told you the story of these cult wine pioneers moving into the world of spirits. John Schwartz (Partner at Amuse-Bouche winery) and Kent Jarman (winemaker at Coup de Foudre, among others) have been producing highly prized Napa wines for years. Along with some other noteworthy winemakers who have made the jump to whiskey, these guys are in it for the long haul. With a new distillery built in Boone County, KY (just across the river from Cincinnati) there is no shortage of future whiskey coming. They were smart enough to secure a large parcel of bourbon for the Lone Whisker brand to have supply until their distillate has reached its maturity. As their supply gets older, we reap the benefits here. Lone Whisker is committed to bottling well-aged bourbon in small batches, so you can be sure you’ll get first access each year to the newest bottling. Every batch is different, and we love comparing them side-by-side. Cheers!
