Cumieres is a warm, natural amphitheater that produces wines of expressive, opulent flavor. This Champagne is a gorgeous expression of the terroir, handled with a delicate touch from field to bottle, without dosage to manipulate the taste. The nose is complex and layered with baked apples, minerals and earthy.
(50% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier; no dosage; disgorged on April 19, 2013; L0110): Pale yellow. Powerful nectarine, pear skin and lemon zest aromas are complicated by chalky minerals and white pepper. Vibrant orchard and citrus fruit flavors are given spine by tangy acidity, picking up spice and floral character with air. Powerful yet lithe and precise, finishing with excellent clarity and length and lingering chalkiness.
