This 12 year whiskey is a limited release from the family Medley that harkens back to a time long past. Charles had the foresight to hold on to some stocks of whiskey he distilled for the old Glenmore distillery in Owensboro, so as he and son, Sam seek to continue their family legacy they have stocks to share!
Sweet oak aromas lead to a hint of leather and spice. The full-bodied palate loaded with caramel, rye spice and vanilla leads to a finish that has a warming, spicy quality to it.
First debuted in 1873 by George Medley, the Medley family distillery already had 60 years of tradition in its rear view by the time this label appeared on the scene. With the exception of the thirteen dark years of Prohibition, the Medley family has been continuously releasing whiskey since 1812. It is now on Charles and Sam, the 7th and 8th generation respectively, to advance the family business and uphold the high standards set by their predecessors. When they found an old bottle of "Private Stock" in the basement of the Medley distillery the light bulbs went on immediately. They needed to find a way to resurrect this family brand.
