2015 The Fableist '53' Petite Sirah Paso Robles

This story refers to the strength in unity, in which a dying father demonstrates to his quarreling sons that a bundle of sticks, (a fasces) is unbreakable, while an individual stick is easily snapped. This Petite is anything but. Black as night but not overripe or raisiny, this is plush and chocolaty Petite Sirah the way it dadgum should be: effortless to drink.

The Fableist is a Paso Robles supergroup, a joint project between Curt Schalchlin and Andrew Jones, proprietors of Sans Liege and Field Recordings, respectively. These guys know where the vines are buried in Paso Robles and the Central Coast, and it shows. They put it in the bottle too, without screwing anything up with too much oak or overripeness. Gentlemen, we salute you.
