Glenfarclas 40yr Single Malt Whisky Speyside
You won't find a better value for a 40 year old Single Malt, other distilleries' releases of this age will run you up to $8,000. George Grant, the 6th generation of the Grant family to helm this divine distillery, believes it has been worth the more than two year wait to release a new expression of this whisky. Aromas of fresh ground coffee and a hint of heather awash in raw honey open up in the glass. The Sherry really comes through on the palate providing a depth and richness on the palate with flavors of dried raisin, dark chocolate and a hint of spice. The dry, lingering finish will end your journey at the gates of whisky heaven.
Originally licensed to distill in 1836, Glenfarclas was purchased by John Grant on June 8, 1865. The distillery sits upon the Rechlerich farm at the base of the Ben Rinnes Mountain in the heart of Speyside. To this day Glenfarclas is one of only a small handful of distilleries in Scotland to remain family-owned and managed. Now in the hands of the fifth and sixth generation of the family, John L. S. Grant and his son George S. Grant, remain committed to the vision of creating the best quality single malt Scotch whisky, in the traditional Speyside style. Meaning "Glen of the green grassland" in Gaelic, Glenfarclas' single malts all have a distinctive freshness reminiscent of spring time in Speyside intertwined with rich sherry and a touch of peat.About Glenfarclas
