The French expression "Au Contraire" was a favorite of Palm Bay's founder, David S. Taub, who was one of a kind. David would often use this saying to motivate colleagues, friends and family to seek out creative solutions and always strive for the best. Palm Bay dedicated this beautiful expression of California Pinot Noir to David.
The Dutton family's history in Sonoma County farming goes back to 1881, and it was only in the 1980s that they sold their fruit stand in Santa Rosa and turned their attention from apple and prune farming to wine grapes. Today the Duttons farm over 1,100 acres, of which they own 860, mostly in the Green Valley AVA within Russian River Valley.
The bouquet of this wine is quite fragrant with raspberry and plum with a soft earthy, mushroom tone accented by vanilla notes from the French oak barrel aging. In the mouth it's broad and lush with roundness and purity of fruit.

The first California wine label for the Taub Family Vineyards of Palm Bay International was inspired by founder David S. Taub who would often use the phrase “Au Contraire!” to motivate friends and family to seek out creative solutions and accomplish unexpected results. California enologist Tom Hinde (an alum of Lokoya and Cardinale) uses top vineyard sites in Russian River Valley, Carneros and the Sonoma Coast to make these expressive wines.About Au Contraire
