2012 Bounty Hunter Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Avg. Rating:
2012 Bounty Hunter Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

The law of supply and demand is an unforgiving principle, like gravity. Just because you make 800 cases of a $115 Cabernet Sauvignon doesn't mean you're going to sell 800 cases. It helps to have a pressure release valve, the occasional midnight pickup at the loading dock. Presto. 500 cases.

We are that midnight rider. Our Bounty Hunter Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the product of hours of haggling, cajoling, and occasionally shamelessly begging our partners for a few barrels of their great Cabernet to quietly bottle under our own label. If we told you the sources for our 2012 wine, you wouldn't believe us, and because we like to stay a step ahead of the tort lawyer, we're legally sworn to secrecy anyway.

We can tell you that the 2012 model comes from two sources. One of them is generally considered to be one of the top 5 producers in the entire Napa Valley. The other is a lesser-known property in Napa that nevertheless routinely scores 95 and up in The Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator. This 2012 Cabernet is about pleasure: full-bore cassis, black cherry, and mocha aromas packed in a full-bodied, rich, satisfying frame. It will also age like nobody's business. A six pack or a case for the cellar would be a great play!

As merchants, negociants and vintners, we are afforded special access to a treasure trove of great wine. We taste between five and six thousand wines every year and have longstanding relationships with some of the world's best wineries and winemakers. Consider Bounty Hunter your ultimate Wine Country insiders. We live here in Napa, work with the local winemakers and grape growers and eat and drink with them in our Wine Bar & Smokin' BBQ digs downtown. We often get the early scoop on what's really happening in the wineries, vineyards and cellars (lucky you). This means we have access to the truly 'great stuff' long before most other sources even know about it. Fact is, we stay ahead of the curve and find the wine and 'great stuff' you want before you know you want them.
