2013 Domaine Dominique Gallois 'Les Petits Cazetiers' Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru, France
The "Petits Cazetiers" vineyard is in the northwest corner of the village of Gevrey, a little wedge just north of "Les Cazetiers," a Premier Cru noted for its gamy, beefy aroma and deep black cherries and baking spices like clove. See if you can spot them in this wine!

Dominique Gallois is noted to have one of the coldest cellars in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. It was built by his great-grandfather, one Monsieur Bizot, in 1901. Over the years successive inheritances split up Bizot's domaine, which once contained holdings as far south as Volnay. Dominique inherited his 2.5 hectares in Gevrey from his grandmother, and in 1989 began domaine-bottling their produce under his own label, adding a little land along the way, and today he owns 4 hectares. Gallois produces a spectacular Charmes-Chambertin from vines almost 100 years old, as well as numerous Premiers Crus and Bourgognes. We love their 'stuffing' and hearty drinkability, and can't wait to share them with you.About Domaine Gallois
