2015 Lail 'Blueprint' Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley

As old-school Napa Valley nobility, it's no surprise Robin Lail has access to some prime Sauvignon Blanc vines. Fruit cup, pineapple, yellow cherries, and a pleasing green melon aroma make this plump, rich Sauvignon almost a meal in itself. Lail's Blueprint wines have never been better - see for yourself!

Lail Vineyards continues to stand tall in the Napa Valley skyline. Five generations of Napa winemaking have laid the foundation for this family-owned cellar to be counted among the giants. Dating back to the legendary wines of Inglenook in the late 1800s, they have been instrumental in changing the reputation of California wine forever. A truly magical recipe that includes superstar winemaker Philippe Melka in the cellar and a commitment to using superlative fruit from their multiple estate-owned vineyards, there are few who do it better than this steward of the industry. For over 130 years, their quest for perfection and pioneering spirit of discovery have cultivated some of the most treasured wines around the world. In our never ending pursuit of "great stuff," we are proud to offer this pillar of the Napa wine landscape. The view has never looked so good!

    Comment:
This wine literally bursts with starfruit & melon on the palate (at warmer temperatures you may experience a pleasing hint of chalk). But, swirl & drink up the aroma first; its nose will blow you away. It's great on its own or with a Mission fig (to add a note of sweetness) but don't pair it with anything overly spicy because you'll destroy its fruit flavor which is crisp but not tart. This tastes like it would be a perfect match with shellfish. Or on vacation. Or fantasizing about being on vacation! I recommend this with no reservations.
