2014 Marius Delarche 'Boutiers' Pernand-Vergelesses

Avg. Rating:
(0)

"Les Boutieres" is a fantastic little Pinot Noir from the base of the hill of Corton that seriously overdelivers for the price. Here comes the red plums, cranberries, lilting red cherries, and wet stone accents. A red Burgundy made for a carefree afternoon and a big lolling plate of charcuterie!

The cellar at Marius Delarche literally overlooks the hill of Corton and is one of the greatest vineyard plots in the world. With Grand Cru dirt of both the red and white variety, the slope of Corton is home to incredible grapes that make it into only a select few cellars. It takes nerves of steel to work with fruit from Corton and the surrounding vineyards of Pernand-Vergelesses, as mistakes are very, very expensive. Philippe Delarche and his son Etienne are more than up to the challenge. The Delarche philosophy is about minimalist, low-intervention, small-batch winemaking. When you're working with raw materials of the caliber they source, you let nature do the work for you. Nothing they make is more than a few dozen barrels (at the most) so the care and attention to detail each lot receives is borderline coddling. We think you'll love their handiwork.
