2013 Miner 'Emily's' Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
For $50, this has a heck of a lot of prime Oakville hillside fruit in it. Stagecoach, Emilio’s Terrace, Buselli, Miner & Schlein Vineyards fruit all combines to make this one sweetly serious mouthful of Cabernet, with cassis liqueur, black cherries, and espresso that persist through a sauntering finish! Fantastic.

Miner Family Vineyards is a dynamic, family owned winery tucked into the eastern hills of the Oakville appellation, deep in the heart of Napa Valley. With neighbors like Rudd Estate, Screaming Eagle and Joseph Phelps's Backus Vineyard, you know this is territory for some serious competition. When it gets right down to it, Napa reds are Napa reds because of lavish fruit and generous oak, and honestly Miner does it better than most.
Winemaker extraordinaire and GM Gary Brookman originally cut his teeth at Joseph Phelps Vineyards back in the early 80s. It was there he worked with a myriad of varietals, constantly refining his skills with each passing harvest. He's been at the helm with Miner from day one crafting wines and stalking vineyards in critical pursuit of bottled harmony while capturing the land's essence.
