This edition of Samaroli's Islay cache is often considered the "little brother" of Samaroli's Ferry to Islay releases. The same technique is used here of blending casks of younger and older whisky to allow for a greater range of aromas and layers of flavor. With malts up to 27 years old this is a rare sighting indeed, showing aromas of dried flowers and subtle smoke that just caresses the senses. The palate is layered with hints of sea salt, oak, smoky spice, and Islay hay, that slowly unfold in the glass over time. A true connoisseur's delight in the bottle. Fewer than 100 bottles produced.
