In the UK, foraging wild sloe berries (a small relative of the plum), steeping them in gin, and making the liqueur has been part of rural family tradition for centuries. Using an old family recipe that has been passed down for generations, husband and wife distilling team of Timo and Ashby Marshall, start with their signature gin and macerate the sloe berries in the spirit until they release all of their natural flavor and color. This vibrantly-hued liqueur showcases both bright berry and citrus notes combined with ripe sweetness and fresh acidity. Traditionally consumed as a digestif, it also makes a nice addition to a gin and tonic or a Negroni.
