Well look at that! There is a grape that did not find fame primarily in France. This German native can withstand the chill of the fatherland, making it a suitable grape in what would otherwise be classified as “marginal” climates for grape cultivation. Lovely aromatic qualities of honeysuckle, apricot, and jasmine have made her a darling in sommeliers eyes. The grape’s acidity has enabled her to thrive in a range of styles from dry to sticky sweet and be grown in cool, as well as warmer new world climates. Furthermore she’s known to age well… sounds like fun to us.
