8/8/8 is a particularly significant number combination for Tequla Ocho. The brand became available in the United States on August 8, 2008. The first release was a plata tequila, produced with agave harvested from the El Carrizal estate.
This Extra Anejo release is from the same harvest and was matured in ex-bourbon casks for 8 years and 8 months. Only 1,500 bottles were produced for the world, with 1,000 available in the United States.

You'll find a complex array of character from start to finish, with toffee, ginger spice, hints of tropical fruit, and orange peel leading the aromatic charge. Floral accents and black tea linger and lead to a palate replete with honey, macadamia, plantain, caramel, and mint. Hints of pepper, anise and fresh tobacco leaf bring a wondrous melange of herbaceous notes to the mid-palate and the finish returns with toasted orange peel. A full-bodied tequila with a supple mouthfeel and incredible complexity.
