The Dalmore Distillery has been producing exceptional single malt whisky since 1839 and, for almost a century, it was owned by the Clan Mackenzie. The clan's defining influence on the distillery is still evident to this day, with the iconic royal stag's antlers - taken from the Mackenzie family crest - adorning each and every bottle of The Dalmore. Their claim to fame lies in location of the distillery which is perfectly situated to take advantage of a feast of natural resources in the Scottish Highlands: from the waters of Loch Morie, found high in the hills overlooking the distillery, to the golden barley of the rich coastal soils of the Black Isle. Dalmore's Cigar Malt celebrates the natural rapport that whisky and cigars have shared for centuries. This latest Reserve release focuses on aging in ex-oloroso Matusalem sherry wood resulting in a greater level of decadence. As Gavin Smith, Whisky Advocate, exclaimed "Pass the Partagas! Spicy Christmas cake with rich sherry notes on the nose…Robust sweet toffee and mango flavors, with oloroso sherry, vanilla, and lively spices. Medium to long in the finish, with ginger, treacle, and licorice." Whether you fancy a stogie, or not, this exceptional dram is a delightful treat for the senses. Enjoy!
