This award winning blend of 8-14 year Tennessee whiskey pays homage to Nathan "Nearest" Green, given the moniker "Uncle Nearest" by those close to him, the first African-American master distiller in the U.S. He was a pioneer who helped perfect the Lincoln County process, the filtering process that makes Tennessee whiskey what it is, and taught one Jack Daniels the art and science of distilling.
With sweet notes of oak, vanilla, and caramel corn balanced by hints of hay and savory seeds this is a wonderful whiskey for sipping on any day of the week. The palate shows robust character including flavors of maple, raisins, figs, and a touch of cookie dough. Its lingering finish lies on the palate and a wonderful wisp of spice slowly fades. A worthy whiskey to celebrate an American pioneer in our industry.
